Voter Outreach.

Voter Outreach
The Voter Outreach Committee encourages people to become more actively engaged in the voting process, including community events and postcard drives to increase voter registration and voting in every election. We educate voters about current election issues, and do projects like developing “welcome materials” for new residents in Chester County. Below is a sampling of volunteer opportunities ranging from small to large.
Postcard Writer
Write postcards to Chester Country residents alerting them to upcoming elections and encouraging them to vote in even the smaller, off-year elections. A rewarding task that can be done easily at home.
Postcard Coordinator
Volunteer project manager for 3 – 4 times a year managing 20 – 30 volunteers to send approximately 2,000 postcards in each batch. Includes ordering and batching postcards, stamps, scripts, and coordinating drop off locations with each volunteer. Duration of task is 3 weeks for each batch. This is a wonderful opportunity for those with good organizational skills who also enjoy working with people.
Events Representative
Volunteers are always welcome to join our teams at community events. There are usually several CCMF members in attendance, so this is a great way to contribute to our efforts and add your voice while getting to know others in the group.
Events Coordinator
Plan community events to educate and raise awareness of voter registration, mail in ballots, issues on the ballot, and why I should care about this particular election. Includes planning/handling logistics including location, speakers, materials, technology, marketing, and making connections with nonprofits, community organizations, and elected officials who might participate in the event.
Average Voter Editor
A person to act with uninformed voters in mind – all ages, genders, races – to review and edit materials developed by Messaging and other groups. The purpose is to determine if they provide the right level of information, pique interest, don’t assume knowledge about a subject, don’t contain inflammatory words, and are not white-centered messages that exclude other ethnicities.
